Tidy sells out 25th anniversary weekender and introduces a brand-new era to its Label

Label | 18.03.2021

Few can lay claim to selling out events after 25 years on the scene, yet Tidy just achieved this seriously impressive feat with months to spare.

Returning to its spiritual home of Pontins Prestatyn for the record breaking 18th time, the industry heavyweights are celebrating a quarter of a century in the business with its biggest show to date, whilst introducing a whole new phase to the label that is seeing credible names like Patrick Topping, Nicole Moudaber, Charlotte De Witte, Eats Everything, Max Chapman and Josh Butler all supporting releases from across the brands illustrious discography.

Tidy has some incredible achievements under its belt, from a live Radio One Essential Mix, over 22 Sell Out Weekenders, 5 sell-out Magna events, more than 350 label releases, several national Top 40 hits and most recently a #1 album on Beatport and iTunes with the Nicholson album “Reverent”, and now it’s looking forward to the next 25 years. The Tidy 25 Weekender is a statement, a time to reflect and a time to look forward on the exciting plans the brand now has in place.

Through its Tidy Trax, TidyTwo and particularly its Untidy label, some of the freshest and most versatile artists are reworking older Tidy releases and bringing them to a brand-new young audience. In fact, Nicole Moudaber, Max Chapman, Piero Pirupa, Josh Butler, David Rust, Sorley, Jacky, Denney, Sam Divine and Matt Smallwood are amongst some of the names in the release schedule in the coming months. Diversifying Tidy’s sound is very much part of its future plans, as new generations of producers are putting a new spin on the infamous sound. In fact, Sorley’s remix of Untidy Dubs’ ‘Funky Groove’ just received plays from Pete Tong and Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1.

Harnessing new production talent is key, Tidy have set up TidyPro, an online learning platform to teach and mentor the producers of tomorrow as well as developing established artists and professionals that have been involved in the brand since the get-go. Upcoming courses include BK’s Hard House Anthems (17th March) and Signum’s Trance Anthems (27th April). Currently working over Zoom but with plans in place to do face to face learning when guidelines permit, there are also masterclasses from the likes of BK, Rob Tissera, Sam Townend, Paul King, Paul Maddox, Ben Stevens and many more. So far, over 500 people have enrolled and its received mammoth support from heavy hitters Sennheiser, Adams Audio and Ableton.

Spanning from 9th-11th July across three arenas, after parties, day activities and more, the Tidy 25 Weekender features a who’s who of global talent from its 25 year history including Eddie Halliwell, Lisa Lashes, Tidy Boys, Judge Jules, Tall Paul and hundreds of other fan-favourites. A true coming together of the people, Tidy is renowned for the community it’s created, and even through the current times of adversity, new generations are getting involved and starting a new era for the brand.

The brainchild of Tidy Boys; Amadeus Mozart and Andy Pickles in the mid-90s, Tidy started as a platform for DJs to produce and mix the music they wanted. Through countless events around the world at some of the most prestigious venues and festival stages, plus over 350 releases, it turned into an institution that has stood the test of time through trends, fads, and everything in between.

Both nostalgic and innovative, the Weekender is set to be a truly special event that represents exactly what dance music is all about, a celebration of community, the past, the future and most of all, the music.

For those without tickets to the sold-out event, dates in Bournemouth (O2 Academy) and Leeds (Mint Warehouse) are scheduled for 2021 / 2022.
