Veerus is no stranger to the label, with multiple releases as one half of the eponymous duo Veerus & Maxie Devine. Beat That, however, marks his solo debut for Yoshitoshi, on which the Venetian producer showcases his penchant for dark, techno-influenced grooves designed for massive sound systems.

‘Beat That’ makes strong use of an overwhelmingly powerful kick drum, searing hats, and a certain vocal that some might recognize from back in the day. It’s B-side, ‘Disto Hoover,’ is equally driving and intense. Both tracks are designed for maximum impact, forsaking melody in favor of clobbering rhythms.
