Printworks London announce dates for final season with 40+ shows

Since opening its doors in 2017, Printworks London has grown to become an iconic space for club culture in London, with countless labels, crews, collectives, DJs, live acts, visual artists and creators finding a home in the impressive industrial ex-factory that became Printworks.

As Printworks announce their final season for the foreseeable future, the team reveal their strongest season to date running across Spring / Summer 2023. Delivering a mix of legendary parties like Hospitality, Defected, and DnB Allstars to new Printworks additions and breakout brands such as queer celebration Body Movements, Piano People, and much more – this final season unites sounds from all corners to represent the journey that Printworks has been on in the past six years, and all who have been involved along the way.

Since opening its doors, Printworks has provided a home to some of the most prestigious club brands in the world – and this finalé season welcomes back a solid selection of those including the always fabulous La Discothéque, featuring Derrick Carter, Jayda G, Erol Alkan, Mix-Stress, and of course – plenty of glitter and glam for the final session at Printworks. Belfast born AVA Festival will once again take over the impressive space with a weighty line-up boasting Max Cooper, Mall Grab, Courtesy, and more – plus homegrown Irish talent and an industry conference (details TBA.) Enzo Siragusa’s long-standing FUSE brand returns, plus globally revered crews including classic house label Defected, Glitterbox, ANTS, Sulta Selects and more.

On top of long-established names, Printworks’ final run also includes rising groups making bold moves. For the final season, they invite UK’s pioneering queer festival Body Movements to host their first Winter edition, with a selection of 14 crews holding it repping some of the finest sounds from the queer club movement. The rapidly growing Amapiano movement will be represented by Piano People, who invite Uncle Waffles to headline with heavy hitters of all female talent to mark International Women’s Day.

Featuring heavily on the final season’s roster is a mix of solid-gold DnB and bass-heavy shows exploring the full spectrum of the genre, including the legendary DnB Allstars who bring a hefty bill featuring 4k, Mollie Collins, Sub Zero and more. Hospitality brings the largest line up of the season with over 20+ label friends and fam TBA, then Let It Roll’s event features Camo & Krooked, Critical Soundsystem and guests. From jump-up to liquid, there’s a mix of everything for any DnB die-hards. On a bass music tip, Worried about Henry returns with a banger featuring Hybrid Minds, Kanine, Friction, Skepsis (DnB set) and more.

On top of all this, there’ll be experimental live / classical shows from Aurora Orchestra and Southbank Centre, and the London Symphony Orchestra, working with artist Soweto Kinch to present White Juju – a show inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement exploring themes of politics and racial discrimination. These unique shows will use the vast industrial space to explore soundscapes, and exploded orchestras. A few special live shows to be announced, keep your eyes on Printworks’ social pages for more information.

For those with tastes leaning more to the left, Printworks’ final season includes a weighty Easter takeover from The Hydra. For their venue swansong, they have invited five iconic institutions who have shaped different underground movements, playing a pivotal role in club culture history. These include fabric, FWD>>, Plastic People, Tresor and That’s How It Is! Representing what each institution stands for, the line ups will feature talent old and new to recreate their ethos.

Plans for the closing weekend of the venue’s lifespan will take place across Friday 28th – Monday 1st May 2023. Line ups will be announced at a later date.

It marks the culmination of an incredible six years since Broadwick Live first opened Printworks London in February 2017. Once home to the largest printing factory in Western Europe, the original aesthetics, giant machines and printing presses were preserved to create a stunning, industrial environment in which to present its award-winning music programme and set piece events. Regularly voted one of the best venues in the world, the iconic press halls have welcomed over 3,000 artists across around 300 internationally-acclaimed shows in the world in recent years.

‘We’re excited to bring you the final season at Printworks. Over the past six years we’ve welcomed millions of guests along with some incredible artists, partners, labels and collectives through our doors. For the final season, we’re looking forward to welcome back guests and partners who have been with us throughout Printworks’ journey, along with some new parties and breakout brands.

The team have gone above and beyond in terms of programming, production and creativity for the final season to celebrate the history of Printworks for the last time in its current guise.’

 – Matthew Johnson, Director of Entertainment
