Demuir
- Black Soul + Techno EP
Pets Recordings | 06.03.2020
Still high, still alive, still dirty as hell: Demuir continues his incredible vein of form with this powerful Pets debut. Two originals, one dub, all acid, all Black Soul.
‘Black Kids Luv Techno’ sets the tone with clarity. Industrial strength jacking beats provide a pounding canvas while the spiky 303 funk and robotic speak’n’spell splashes paint the picture. Full-on in widescreen width; it’s Detroit, it’s Chicago, it’s London, it’s one of the heaviest cuts Demuir has given us. This black kid freaking loves techno and techno loves him all the way back.
‘Something Inside Of Me’ continues the timeless, venomous 303 theme. Once again, we’re led by an elasticated 303 lead that morphs and mutates the way all good acid lines should. But this time it’s backed by more of a shuffled, groovier drum set and warp-speed chords landing at all the right moments. Rolling, hypnotic, deadly; be it with the spoken word original or the instrumental dub, this absolutely shells. Just like his recent cuts on Robsoul, Desolat and Hot Creations have in the last few months alone. Something tells us there’s plenty more inside this Toronto talent’s mind’ Show some luv.
