- One Take In The Booth EP
Up The Stuss | 06.11.2020
Chris Stussy welcomes Mannheim favourite Fabe to launch new label Up The Stuss this November, delivering the imprint’s debut offering ‘One Take In The Booth’.
Following on from his biggest twelve months to date, with releases via the likes of Moscow Records, LOCUS and Eastenderz coupled with a remix of house legend Kerri Chandler and the soaring rise of PIV – the label in which he A&R’s – Chris Stussy’s ascent and evolution as a blossoming DJ and producer of note looks set to continue this November as he adds the title of label owner to his growing resumé with his latest project, Up The Stuss. With the name taken from a saying created during Stussy’s trips Down Under, most notably his appearances at Sydney’s world-renowned day party and after-hours series S.A.S.H, the outlet will focus on material not confined by genres but instead focused on forward-thinking and timeless club-driven productions from across the electronic sphere from Stussy, close friends and fellow colleagues – with the debut EP coming courtesy of Mannheim’s Fabe as he delivers four club-ready cuts guaranteed to create dancefloor movement.
“As an artist, I’m always looking for fresh, forward-thinking music, and something I find special is artists who have created their own distinct sound. The label is based on this idea whilst making a connection with the person behind it all, sharing a vision and passion, and enjoying these moments together.” – Chris Stussy
Title cut ‘One Take In The Booth’ sets the tone from the off as Fabe reveals a more house-driven haze to his trademark sound, combining escalating electronics and shuffling percussion with infectious, playful vocals to deliver a dynamic lead offering, before diving into the slinking drums and driving low-ends of ‘Stai Con Me’ as further alluring vocals enter the fold. On the flip, ‘The Stamp’ welcomes a weave of hypnotic grooves and glitchy samples atop of a snaking core bassline, before rounding out proceedings with the classy ‘Running’ – a bubbling production balanced by soft chords perfect late night and the after-hours.
Fabe ‘One Take In The Booth’ drops via Up The Stuss on 6th November 2020.
