Griffintown Records, formerly Mile End Records, finish off their year in style with a new EP from L.O.R.D.I.E. that features two remixes from Do Not Sleep talent Darius Syrossian.

Opener Alpha is a warm and chunky house track that rolls and rolls. Pumping drums drive it along as sandy hi hats and wooden ticks pepper the groove. Some sweeping filters add drama to this simple but effective tune. The first Darius remix is much more dirty and sleazy with an overdriven bassline and real meat in the drums. It’s the sort of sweaty tune to get any club going.

Next original Beta is more rave, with big lumpy drums and clipped vocals all making for a fat and full lava house groove. It’s the sort of big hearted and no frills tune to really make an impact. Darius then remixes again in crisp fashion with clipped drums and bobbling percussion racing along in tight loops, sucking you in and making you dance as it goes.

This, then, is a powerful EP from the always excellent Griffintown Records.
