Maceo Plex
- Solar Sampler
Ellum Audio | 27.07.2015
The very much respected and popular artists on the underground music scene, Maceo Plex is releasing his long-awaited forthcoming album on his very own Ellum Records. Its title named after his recent birth of his child ‘Solar’. The first sampler from Solar has two tracks which are named Wash Away My Tears and Solar Detroit.
‘Life Index’ was released way back in 2011 on Crosstown Rebels, now four years on Plex’s sound has grown and his production skills have become more homed and tuned for more of an emotional ride. Just finished his Conjure series we cant wait to hear the complete ‘Solar’ album.
Wash Away My Tears is a 12 inch mixed version, the track is crafter to supreme class and is beautifully executed. Deep and dreamy with emotional and powerful synths and vocal melodies. The B Side ‘Solar Detroit’ has that hint of
detorit acid taste, backed up with grumbling FX and climactic synth sounds.
Maceo Plex aka Maetrik has been road testing these tracks for a while now, the two tracks Wash Away My Tears and Solar Detroit can be found in most of his recent sets.
‘This release is some music taken from my upcoming album “Solar”, named after our newborn baby of the same name. It is due out in October. ‘Wash Away My Tears (12 inch mix)’ is a more DJ friendly version of the original on the album. ‘Solar Detroit’ was written when I took little baby Solar to Detroit in May.’ – Maceo Plex
