Mateo Dufour delivers his first EP for No Art with ‘Check This Sound’, backed by a slick remix from ALCI.

A South American who has caught the attention of many over the past twelve months, Buenos Aires’ Mateo Dufour is a name familiar to No Art fans, having featured for the Amsterdam favourites at the likes of Paradiso, No Art Festival and No Art Manchester. Fresh from recent material on the likes of Key Records and Deeperfect, he now makes his first appearance on the label with ‘Check This Sound’, accompanied by a remix from Swiss talent ALCI following the pair’s recent b2b appearance during ADE.

‘Check This Sound’ is a vibrant lead track with funky keys, tight drums and a slinking bassline to showcase Dufour’s groove-led and spirited sound, while ‘That’s Fine’ pairs things back slightly as infection vocals, rolling percussion and resonant organ stabs go to work. To close, ALCI marks his label debut with a dark and twisting take on the title cut, weaving skittering low-ends and murky atmospheres for a heady after-hours effort.
