Yamba is officially considered one of the beach bars in the world according to Conde Nast, and ahead of it reopening on May 8th, the world renowned spot is launching its own music label, Yamba Waves. The first EP, Khoeli, comes from Momüs, the Yamba co-founder who lays out the label’s vision across two groovy daytime house cuts, with a remix by the one and only DJ T.

The label will deal in warm sunset sounds, heartfelt house as well as dazzling disco that is designed to make you smile. As well as the first EP, the next two releases will also be from Momüs and form a trilogy concept that is inspired by astral tides: Moon, Solar, and Earth. The series will be released digitally and on vinyl in the summer, and will come as a complete album at a later date.

Momüs has been producing and DJing for over 15 years, playing everywhere from Paris to NYC to Lisbon. Now, he makes his production debut in fine style with an EP that is called Khoeli, the Malawi word for Moon. Opener Khoeli is a superbly deep six-minute house vibe with soft toms, warm bass, and soulful vocals. It is the sort of tune to send shivers down your spine and make you feel the sand between your toes as the sun beats down.

Remixer DJ T. needs little introduction. He has been shaping dance music in many ways for years, from opening clubs to founding Groove Mag or the inevitable and always relevant Get Physical Music inprint, serving up always evolving albums and very personal compilations to red hot dance floors. He reworks the track into a more club-ready piece with plenty of cosmic synths, a delicate vocal and an irresistible break beat groove. Malaco Disco is Momüs’s second original and is another super smooth and seductive deep house groove with a killer melodic bassline. The lush hits and harmonic bell sounds add classy details that bring yet more warmth and perfect sunset vibes.

This is a fantastic EP that is sure to sound special on the Yamba famous Audio Factory sound system with stunning views looking out to the ocean.
