Monday Club
- Blackout
Viva Music | 16.03.2015
This EP is all about the Acid, Monday Club deliver the acid drenched ‘Blackout’ for Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSIC featuring a freaky Luke Solomon remix.
Luke May & Paul Sidoli are the duo behind Monday Club, both heavily influenced by the acid movement. With releases on ALiVE, Black Butter, Muzik Box just to name a few.
As you can imagine the ‘Blackout’ EP is rich in acid, with a 2015 style house productions which works really well. The title track has a speaker shattering bass line which we can say is going defiantly gets some fists pumping on the dance floor
‘Girls Jacking’ and ‘Footprints’ complete the originals from the boys and they do not let the EP down, ‘Girls Jacking’ has electronic bass synth sound driving the track with an amazing vocal sample cut. ‘Footprints’ has more of the same treatment.
A few words from Monday Club on the Blackout EP
“We’re really excited to be working with Steve and VIVa as they totally get what we’re about, which is basically taking the best of yesterday with the best of today and cooking up the Acid House of tomorrow. We were trying to capture the smoke filled basement and the buzz of the warehouse with this record so we were really psyched when Luke Solomon came on board to remix Blackout as he’s the perfect fit for it, and has done an amazing job.’
