Samuele Scelfo
- My Father in Ibiza 1988
Hot Creations | 27.08.2021
Italian artist Samuele Scelfo is next to land on Hot Creations with his two-track release My Father in Ibiza 1988, which is inspired by his father’s unique vinyl collection that he bought on the White Isle almost thirty years ago. Samuele explains that ‘dedicating the EP to him was the least I could do.’
First up is Hygge, a trippy affair with prominent and infectious vocal hooks. Samuele reveals ‘when I made Hygge I wanted to create a stylish atmosphere that reminds me of the late 80s, with iconic toms and synths that balance the female vocal. Once I made those main sounds, I created the low end and the drums to let the track perform well in a club scenario.’ Next up, Don’t Mess is a heavy-duty roller made for the late night dance floor. ‘For this track, I brought out my darker side. I really wanted to reach Jamie Jones’ strange and unique sounds, combined with a hammering groove and a synth, which drives the listener throughout the record.’
Born in Florence, Samuele Scelfo has always been a lover of music. As a full time resident at Morositas Club in Siena (Italy), within a few years he brought his sound to some of the best Italian and European clubs, sharing the booth with many of the greatest artists in the underground scene. His releases can be found on influential labels such as Relief, Elrow Music, Snatch!, Müse, Deeperfect and Wow! Recordings. He also has an army of supporters that include Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Green Velvet, Matthias Tanzmann, Lee Foss, Michael Bibi, Gorgon City and many others.
