Flying into 2022 Josh Butler’s Origins Rcrds starts the New Year with a classy house release from Italian artist Simon Ray with ‘L’Amour’ which includes a collaboration with fellow Italians, VLTRA.

Simon Ray has had big releases on labels such as King Street Sounds, Axtone and It’s Great, and he’s amassed over 3 million streams on Spotify alone since 2020. He’s already collaborated with VLTRA, who have released on the likes of Repopulate Mars, Solid Grooves, La Pera and Material Series.

The first track on the release is Simon Ray’s ‘L’Amour’ a pure house track laden with organic evolving sounds and rolling bass line. He then adds a subtle jazz sax and gently spoken French vocals to complete an elegant house track that stands out against the crowd and for sure will be a floor filler as we start the new year.

For track 2 Simon Ray collaborates with fellow Italians VLTRA to create the sophisticated ‘Wanna See You’. With a straight house beat, they add a staccato bass line pattern, understated guitar licks and piano chords which all fit into an exquisite groove before they top this off with a soft vocal hook which finishes this track perfectly.

This is a great start to the year for both the artists and Origins itself with a delectable 2 track that for sure will attract a lot of attention for DJs and dancers alike.
