Ki Creighton
- Nocturnal EP
Lapsus Music | 05.01.2017
Lapsus Music welcome a new signing in the form of Ki Creighton. The UK producer and man behind esteemed and long running northern party Uber serves up two top tunes with remixes by label bosses Supernova and Harry Romero.
Ki is a long time DJ who has played all over Europe. He hosts his own popular radio show and has released his own slick brand of tech house on labels like his own Under No Illusions. Here he impresses once again.
Opener Nocturnal is brooding affair with icy hi hats and clipped vocal sounds in the background. The drums are driving and rubbery and the whole thing is filled with a rising sense of tension. Trausersnake is more crisp and clean cut, with garage style hi hats and tumbling toms and kicks all propped up by gnarly bass. Wild synths burst onto the scene to bring some freakiness that will inject any dance floor with real energy.
Label bosses Supernova turn Nocturnal into a more meaty and techno aligned track with prying synths and darkness in the drums, then house master Harry Romero flips Trausersnake into a brain melting number with twisted synths and explosions of arpeggiated melodies all over the top of his trademark train track drums.
