Madrid Inc.
- My Sunday's Love (tINI, Dan Ghenacia & Chris Carrier, & Ilario Liburni Remixes)
Invade Records | 23.06.2017
Belgium’s Invade Records returns this June with a remix package of Madrid Inc.’s classic ‘My Sunday’s Love’ featuring interpretations from Dan Ghenacia & Chris Carrier, tINI, and label founder Ilario Liburni.
Ilario Liburni founded the Invade Records imprint is 2013 and has since gone on to carve out an impressive back catalogue featuring mostly material from himself with remixes from the likes of Sascha Dive and Einzelkind. 2015 saw the label mark a milestone, licensing Mystic Bill’s ‘Take Me Back’ for a re-release featuring a remix from industry favourite Ricardo Villalobos and this time round Ilario licence’s Madrid Inc.’s ‘My Sunday Love’, originally released on N.E.W.S subdivision label 541 in 2000, and again welcoming a coterie of respected artists on remix duties.
The original mix takes the lead, release at the turn or the millennium the snaking bass groove and raw rhythms still sound as relevant today as they did seventeen years ago. Ilario follows with his ‘Tarsier’ remix, stripping back the original to a reduced, minimalistic state with sparse percussion and filtered sweeps of the original bass running alongside soft pad flourishes.
On the flip Dan Ghenacia and Chris Carrier join forces for their ‘Dub Remix’, offering a more directly dance floor focused interpretation fuelled by straight four-four rhythms and the original’s wandering bass before tINI offers up her ‘Born In The 80ies Reinterpretation’, which embraces bumpy electro-tinged drums, spiralling atmospheric pad lines and infectiously processed snippets from the original’s lead hook, creating something distinctively unique and contrasting.
