Devstar and Timmy P launch Make You Move Records this June, with the first EP coming via the latter’s ‘Keep Off My Drums’ EP backed by remixes from Devstar and James Dexter.

The brainchild of two bubbling UK talents firmly on the rise, this Summer welcomes the launch of a new imprint into the house music sphere as Devstar (Madtech, DVINE Sounds, Toolroom) and Timmy P (Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Madhouse) reveal their new project: Make You Move Records (‘MYMR’). MYMR has an ethos of delivering fun, jazz-infused house music, with influences drawn from the 90’s underground scene but presented via a refreshed take for the modern dancefloor. The label will release music from both label founders and tightly selected artists, whilst conveying the energetic and fun-loving personality of the project via the label’s unique artwork and illustrations. Up first, late-June sees Timmy P deliver the debut offering on the label as he unveils his ‘Keep Of My Drums’ EP , backed by remixes from co-founder Devstar and Inermu boss James Dexter.

Title cut ‘Keep Off My Drums’ opens the EP in slick fashion, taking cues from its title as rolling organic percussion arrangements meet resonant chord melodies and soulful and infectious lead vocals, whilst Devstar’s remix introduces icy hats and classic 90’s influenced organ leads atop of shuffling, metallic drum licks. Next up, ‘Born Unslippery’ welcomes vivid electric piano lines alongside tough kicks and hazy background synths, before closing proceedings via James Dexter’s dubby and heady interpretation of the classy production.
