ANOTR, Toman
- Due EP
No Art Red | 02.07.2021
No Art reveal new vinyl off-shoot No Art Red as ANOTR combine with Toman on slick four-track ‘Due’ EP.
A pairing at the forefront of the Dutch electronic scene and a collective continually pushing limits and challenging conventions within house music, ANOTR and their No Art imprint continue to evolve, grow and expand as leading examples within the global landscape. In a year set to introduce a wealth of new projects, having already welcomed the duo’s unnamed artist imprint No Art No Name, early July now sees the arrival of a second vinyl-focused label, No Art Red. A project launched in collaboration with label A&R Toman, the new sister label will connect the dots between art and music via a series of unique, individually created artwork pieces designed around each EP. Launching in style, the trio open July as they deliver their ‘Due’ EP, combining across four tracks oozing with quality and class.
The slick ‘Due’ opens proceedings as rich chords and lush key solos from Argentinian talent Mateo Dufour go to work alongside shuffling drums to showcase an infectiously smooth slice of house music, whilst ‘Libino’ crafts a compelling groove as resonant bass stabs and punchy, rubbery kicks to go work effortlessly. On the flip, ‘Be Heard’ ups the energy and introduces a spellbinding, entrancing flurry of organic percussion arrangements, tweaked out vocals, and nimble one-shots to reveal a peak-time terrace anthem, before closing via the off-kilter, elastic grooves, and glitchy electronics of final production ‘Enderman’.
