Taken from her highly acclaimed album, Life of Leaf released earlier this year, Francesca Lombardo’s beautiful and classically influenced Rain is next to get the remix treatment. Each personally selected by Lombardo, Tobi Neumann, Kate Simko, MATTOKÌND, Robin Millar and Delos all provide their own impressive interpretations.

Francesca explains “I wanted to have a variety of sounds. Tobi Neumann’s remix is for the dancefloor with an old-school edge. I chose Kate to bring something special to the track with her classical writing skills. Delos are an upcoming duo on my label and their style is non replicable. MATTOKÌND’s music is what I thought the original Rain missed – that space and air. Robin Millar is a talented producer and friend and it’s an honour to have him.”

German DJ and producer Tobi Neumann first made a name for himself as a resident at Munich’s Ultraschall II. Currently signed to Sven Väth’s Cocoon roster, Neumann creates a potent club offering for his remix as well as a second playful, bouncy take on the original. Kate Simko has remixed for the likes of Philip Glass and Guy Gerber. Her band, the London Electronic Orchestra, have toured globally as well as releasing a critically acclaimed album. Simko’s version is softer with a heady techno ambience, keeping Francesca’s mesmeric vocal at the fore.

MATTOKÌND’s music seamlessly blends classical and electronic to create a soundscape that transcends genres. They deliver a driving number that culminates in a dramatic crescendo of percussion. Internationally renowned producer Robin Millar has worked alongside some of the world’s top artists including Sade, Kate Bush and Herbie Hancock, and has won countless Grammys and Brit Awards for his work. His take remains true to the original keeping the classical sound adding sublime echoes. To conclude the package newcomers Delos, set to release on Lombardo’s Echolette imprint later this year, create a bewitching, dreamlike soundscape.
