Dark Side Of The Sun boss Luuk van Dijk reveals his latest project ‘Collabs’, featuring material alongside Antss, Ben Sterling, Polar (NL) & Wheats.

A fast-rising talent within the global house music landscape, Amsterdam’s Luuk van Dijk has emerged as an artist of note amongst the city’s blossoming electronic scene, with releases via the likes of Eastenderz, Solid Grooves Raw, No Art and Do Not Sleep, plus his own label ‘ Dark Side Of The Sun. Launched in late 2019 as a platform for his own creative freedom and output, the imprint has welcomed two releases from the label head to date, gaining support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Nicole Noudaber, Arche Hamilton and Franky Rizardo in the process. Next up, the Dutchman unveils the label’s next release, a four-track EP titled ‘Collabs’ which sees van Dijk unveil a series of collaborative productions with close friends and colleagues in the form of emerging artist Antss, Hot Creations regular Ben Sterling, fellow Dutchman Polar and UK house talent Wheats.

Opening proceedings, ‘What Are You Looking At’ alongside Antss welcomes a combination of spiraling synths and chunky bass stabs, whilst van Dijk and Sterling’s lively ‘Tweezy’ sees slinking percussion work amongst off-kilter female vocal interjections and an infectious acid-tinged bassline. Next, the Dutch connection on ‘Kungfusion’ results in a paired-back classy effort guided by rich chords and swinging drums, before partnering with Wheats to deliver the rolling ‘U Trippin’ ‘ a slick production harnessing icy hats atop of distorted vocal snippets and bubbling sub- bass arrangements.
