Simon Doty returns to Anjunadeep with his latest single ‘Hometown’, featuring vocalist Ursula Rucker. The single is taken from Doty’s forthcoming ‘Hometown’ EP out February 4th which includes the collaborative lead single ‘Lay Me Down’ with Artche.

Since his label debut on 2019’s Anjunadeep Explorations 11 with ‘Sama’, Simon Doty has put out five stand out EPs on the label, quickly becoming an Anjunadeep favourite. The self-taught gear maestro has developed a reputation for delectable deep melodic house with oomph, garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Phil Taggart, Gorgon City, Cassian, Jax Jones, Lane 8, and releasing on Knee Deep In Sound, Realm Records, and This Never Happened. Speaking on the EP opener and first single Hometown, Simon says: ‘I’ve always been a huge fan of Ursula Rucker’s vocals, she’s behind some really iconic tracks and I always wanted to take a crack at doing something with her voice.

I made Hometown in my home town of Calgary in January of 2020, and I chose that title to reflect my favourite line from her vocal; ‘I hear home in that bass’. Her voice has so much soul and impact which is missing in a lot of the current vocals we hear in electronic music. I’m very honoured to work with an artist who has been such a big personal inspiration to me, and feel extremely lucky to release this song with Ursula.’ The rest of the EP keeps the momentum, as Doty collaborates with UK-based producer and vocalist Artche on ‘Lay Me Down’. Best known for his Beatport #1 collaboration with Cristoph and Franky Wah, ‘The World You See’, Artche has been supported by acts including Eric Prydz, Pete Tong & Lane 8. Next up is ‘Solstice’, featuring fluttering arps, whilst EP closer ‘Trance Tool’ pays homage to Doty’s darker club side.
