Just in time to hit the Miami shores this March, Sonny Fodera & Gene Farris release ‘We Work It’. One of Defecteds MVP’s Sonny Fodera
teams up with Gene Farris to create what is going to be one of the hits of the Miami music week. The lads debut their first release for the label and its a solid underground house anthem. Remix duties are supplied by Visionquest man Lee Curtiss and a special digital only remix by Music For Freaks and Rebirth pair, Freaks.

Rising star Sonny Fodera has been producing solid cuts over the last 12 months, same goes for Gene Farris. The pair have released on labels such as Defected, Suara and Relief Records. Chicago legend meets Australian newcomer, ‘We Work It’ is a lithe ritual of house funk with bent synths and slick mid tempo drums. A spoken word vocal snippet muses on the intake of various substances and the drums roll on infectiously below. It’s sure to be a standout anthem in the months to come given that vocal line and the spiritualness of the keys all around only adds to the effect.

The first remix comes from Lee Curtiss. This one is a much quicker and more peak time bit of tech house with textured, dynamic bass and plenty of drum fills. It’s an involved, more cosmic and tense take on the original that will build great pressure on the dance floor. Finally, buy the EP digitally and you will also be treated to a bonus remix by Luke Solomon & Justin Harris aka Freaks. This one is a fat and off kilter groove with occult synths and weird keys that is turbocharged with some frazzled bass and tripped out effects.
