Joe Corti
- Bloodline EP
Club Bad | 05.07.2019
Young UK talent Joe Corti makes a debut on Melé’s Club Bad imprint with Bloodline, a well-rounded EP composed of three original tracks.
Fresh-faced UK talent Joe Corti is quickly establishing his presence in the electronic music sphere. DJ sets have come thick and fast since he debuted at London institution Studio 338 five years ago, whilst his production career has been marked by standout releases on Better Listen Records and Pusic Records. The release of Bloodline, on Melé’s Club Bad imprint, is a huge step forward in Joe’s ever-flourishing career.
“After playing at a few Club Bad parties, I wanted to create an EP that represents what you can expect to hear when going to one. The tracks have influences from Italo, to techno, to jazz and this EP represents all of this diversity. Melé threw me this opportunity a while ago before the label had launched, and I’m happy for it to finally reach people’s ears.” Joe Corti.
Kicking things off is the feel-good title track Bloodline. 80s-like synths help provide an old-skool feel, as high pitched trumpet samples are layered alongside moving chimes. The second track, Leave Me Alone, is an emotional dance-floor number. With a mid-morning, sunrise feel, the faint vocal states ‘leave me alone’ whilst gentle hi-hats rustle along in the background, to form the perfect seven am roller. The final track, Perpetual is a groove-laden house vintage. A punchy kick runs underneath a toneful piano roll, as mirraca sounds shake subtly in the background.
