M.F.S: Observatory return to their own Observatory Music imprint this December with the five- track ‘Observatory K’ EP.
Since stepping on to the scene in 2013, Italian duo M.F.S: Observatory have deliver their raw approach to house music via labes such as Butane’s Alphahouse, Waze & Odyssey’s W&O Street Tracks, Huxley No Idea’s Original and of course their very own Observatory Music imprint where they turn to here, continuing the letter series the label has focused on since its launch in early 2016.
‘K1’ leads with robust drums, throbbing sub-bass tones and filtered vocal chants before ‘K2’ tips the focus over to pulsating low-end hits, driving hats and wandering piano licks. ‘K3’ embraces a more industrial feel, employing hooks vocal chops, thunderous kicks and dub techno stabs at its core.
‘K4’ flips the switch over to Garage tinged house next, fusing an amalgamation of pitches vocals with a heady square wave bass line and digital synth licks before ‘K5’ closes on a stripped back tip with organic drums, fluttering vocal murmurs, choppy bass hits and menacing sirens.
