Spanish native Kuo Climax has been making serious waves across the spectrum of house and techno with a series of massive club releases on some of the underground’s hottest imprints. The breakthrough producer has wasted no time in making a name for himself amongst the house scene’s biggest artists and this, his debut release on Santé’s AVOTRE imprint is much of the same.

Opening with title track ‘I Need You’, Kuo quickly sets the pace on this release. The heavy beat drops into a thick rolling bassline before giving way to interludes of choppy synths ‘ rooting this track firmly in the main room. The cleverly placed vocal samples only add to the grit of the track and go a long way to further cement Kuo Climax’s growing reputation as one of 2016’s hottest breakthrough acts.

Rich Wakley’s remix rolls in next. The British producer’s stripped back intro and minimal bass loop take the original in a whole new direction while managing to keep its sonic integrity fully intact. The warped synth and reworked vocal bring the remix from the basement to the afterhours while demonstrating Rich’s knack for drawing the listener in with hyper intelligent production techniques.

Rounding off the release package with B-Side ‘Shhh’ Kuo Climax presents a seriously strong all round record. His now signature big beat intro and far away synths building suspense before quickly dropping into a heavy rolling bassline and driving hi hat loops. Echoing vocal samples accompany a series of dancefloor ready drops guaranteed to become a staple in every major artists’ record bag throughout winter 2016.
