Scene leading tech house label AVOTRE turns to the accomplished pairing of ONNO and Per Hammar for it’s next club slaying EP. Santé’s label is no stranger to tough, no frills tech house, and this new releases fits perfectly with that.

ONNO is someone who has a reputation for playing and making dub-techno. He has done so for labels like ViVA, Saved, Moon Harbour and others, and as a DJ he plays only the finest clubs, such as Panorama Bar. Per on the other hand, is a Swedish producer who runs the Dirty Hands label and the Kiloton club, as well as kicking out the jams on labels like Great Stuff. Together they are a real force.

The duo hook up for both originals here. The first is the meaty ‘Mob Action’ with spaced out pads circling round a rock solid drum line. It is deep and involving, atmospheric and groove driven and is the sort of back room track that the heads really love.

‘Dub Sketch’ is a more physical cut with big drums forcing a groove along. Wonky synth lines and icy hats all flesh out the groove, and some rippling dub techno chords add a real sense of weight and depth. This one is sure to rock any dance floor.

Taking control of remix duty is Italian Luca Agnelli, who brings his own unique twist on the title track Mob Action. Having released on such labels as Upon You, Desolat and now AVOTRE, his musical knowledge and experience of the techno sound is evident as he jumps straight in with a more peak time techno roller with incessant synth stabs, bleepy Jeff Mills style melodies and real sense of late night mischief.

This is a stellar EP chock full of compelling grooves and is another fine release from AVOTRE.
